Year Six Trip to Haslemere Museum

When we went to Haslemere Museum we looked at Ancient Egyptian artefacts, as this term we are focusing on the Egyptians. When we went, we saw an ancient, real-life mummy that was given to the museum 141 years ago. When we looked at an x-ray of the mummy, we noticed the position of the mummy’s arms. They were down the side of the body – this told us that the mummy wasn’t a pharaoh and not important. Just important enough to be mummified. If they were important, they arms would form a cross over their chest. We also got to mummify our own water bottle using bandages; it was a great day!
